The Problem
Create a website that would represent a new product: qrZip. The client wanted a way to link QR codes to web pages. This way, people could go to networking events and show their Digital Business Card rather than simply using the paper version. Each web page would be personalized for each customer to showcase their unique skills and businesses. In addition to a logo, the client also wanted a video to be created that would explain more about the product.
the solution
Step one was to find a way to easily create QR codes that link to web pages. The website goqr.me proved to be the perfect solution. Then, what should the logo look like? It needed to be something that reflected the name of the product. After much debate and many design ideas, I found the current logo that emphasizes the “zip” - how quick the process is of both getting a DBC and showing it to others. Finally, I needed to create a simple product video. I looked at other product explanation videos on YouTube that helped give me ideas for how ours should look. Then I wrote the script, getting approval from the CEO, and moved on to the voice recording. Next was filming, where I enlisted the help of another employee. Together we worked to find an easy way to display the product in action. Finally was editing. The biggest concern here was finding royalty-free music to play in the background, as this is common for many other videos of this nature.
