OnPower, Inc.

The Problem

An outdated website was not allowing their business to grow. Many pages also needed updated as specific products were now being sold under a different brand name. They also wished to showcase their new Mobile Generator. The main pain point for the client, however, was eliminating the “Wall of Text” that was present on nearly every page.

the solution

Step one was researching competitors to On Power, Inc. to see how their websites were designed. The most attractive and successful websites were simple with icons and images that helped to break up the technical specs on the website. Then, in order to create a new page for the Mobile Generator, I had to edit pictures in Photoshop to get rid of all license plates and brand information. Next, I set to work outlining each page’s text and creating preliminary designs that would help eliminate the “Wall of Text.” This involved breaking up information with images, condensing text, creating lists, and creating different sections on each page. The result was that the website was much easier to read and encouraged more clients to use On Power, Inc. for their power generation needs.
